Raiders trade Meyers to Jaguars
The Las Vegas Raiders are trading wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced.
Las Vegas will receive fourth- and sixth-round picks in exchange for the one-time 1,000-yard wideout. Jacksonville owned two Round 4 selections, and the Raiders will acquire the higher one, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills were other teams linked to Meyers in recent weeks. His contract expires at the end of the season. It has a cap hit of $14.9 million in 2025, but the deal doesn't have any guaranteed money remaining.
Meyers requested a trade from the Raiders in the offseason and reiterated his desire for a change of scenery Oct. 21. He's caught 33 passes for 352 yards through seven games in 2025 and is looking for his first touchdown.
The 28-year-old posted productive campaigns in his first two seasons with the Raiders, amassing 1,834 receiving yards between 2023 and '24. He set career highs last year with 87 receptions and 1,027 yards before regressing in 2025 with a subpar offense.
The trade leaves the struggling Raiders with Tre Tucker as their leading wide receiver. They also heavily rely on tight ends and recently welcomed back Brock Bowers, who put on a show Sunday with two touchdowns. Las Vegas kicked off a new era in the offseason after hiring Pete Carroll as head coach and trading for quarterback Geno Smith, but the club is 2-6 and closer to another rebuild than contention.
Jacksonville will be Meyers' third team. The former undrafted free agent began his career with the New England Patriots in 2019.
The Jaguars' wide receiver depth chart is headlined by Brian Thomas Jr. and rookie Travis Hunter, but the latter will miss at least three more games due to a knee injury that forced him to the injured reserve. Jacksonville also rosters wideouts Parker Washington and Dyami Brown, among others.
The Jaguars defeated the Raiders 30-29 in overtime Sunday. Meyers caught four passes for 23 yards against his new team.
