Super Bowl odds: Seahawks, Rams enter playoffs as favorites

The NFL playoff field is finalized, setting up what is likely the most wide-open Super Bowl race in recent memory.

The Seahawks are narrowly favored to hoist the Lombardi Trophy but are only +425 (19% implied probability) on theScore Bet to do so. Their NFC West rivals the Rams are right behind them at +475. Last year, there were two teams priced below +300 to win it all; this year, there are none.

The Seahawks were +6000 to win the Super Bowl before the season, but Sam Darnold and a stout defense led them to a 14-3 record that earned the top seed in the NFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Rams finished as the conference's fifth seed but remain among the contenders thanks to a first-round meeting with the Panthers. Los Angeles is favored by 10.5 points in the wild-card round, the largest favorite by a wide margin.

NFC odds

Team Conf. Champ To Reach NFC Final
Seahawks +185 -170
Rams +225 -105
Eagles +475 +175
Bears +900 +300
Packers +900 +300
49ers +1000 +550
Panthers +6000 +1800

As for the AFC, the 1-seeded Broncos are the betting market's top option to win the Super Bowl at +700, with the Bills (+850) and the Patriots (+900) viewed as Denver's stiffest competition.

AFC odds

Team Conf. Champ To Reach AFC Final
Broncos +225 -140
Patriots +400 +185
Bills +425 +185
Texans +500 +200
Jaguars +550 +275
Chargers +1100 +425
Steelers +1800 +700

The Patriots have given the Seahawks a run as the league's most surprising team. New England was +7500 to win the title in the preseason, but Drake Maye turned in an MVP-worthy performance to get the Patriots back on top in the AFC East. They missed out on the 1-seed in the conference thanks to their Week 1 loss to the Raiders, which gave the Broncos the common-opponent tiebreaker.

Here are the odds as of Monday for Wild Card Weekend.

Date (Time ET) Line Total
Jan. 10 (4:30 p.m.) LAR (-10.5) @ CAR 46.5
Jan. 10 (8 p.m.) GB @ CHI (-1.5) 46.5
Jan. 11 (1 p.m.) BUF (-1.5) @ JAX 51.5
Jan. 11 (4:30 p.m.) SF @ PHI (-3.5) 45.5
Jan. 11 (8 p.m.) LAC @ NE (-3.5) 46.5
Jan. 12 (8:15 p.m.) HOU (-3.5) @ PIT 39.5Β

The Rams are massive road favorites in Carolina. A double-digit spread in the playoffs is atypical, especially one favoring the road side, but the Rams have been viewed as one of the NFL's best teams all year while playing in the league's toughest division. Meanwhile, the Panthers snuck into the playoffs at 8-9 from the lowly NFC South. That said, the Panthers did beat the Rams 31-28 as 9.5-point underdogs at home in Week 13.

The Texans and Bills are the two other road favorites in the opening round. Houston and its league-best defense face the Steelers, who clinched their spot Sunday night with a late missed field goal by the Ravens. Pittsburgh is not viewed as a true Super Bowl threat - the Steelers are +5000 to win it all, longer odds than they had before the season started.
