Report: Saints signing Wilson to 1-year deal
The New Orleans Saints are signing quarterback Zach Wilson to a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Wilson was the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. After a disappointing three-year tenure in New York, he was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2024. He didn't appear in a contest with the Broncos and was signed by the Miami Dolphins last offseason.
The 25-year-old played in four games with the Dolphins in 2025, completing six of 11 passes for 32 yards, but has not started an NFL contest since the 2023 season. He boasts a 12-21 record with 6,325 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions.
Wilson joins a quarterback depth chart that includes Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler. Shough is expected to be New Orleans' starter in 2026 after an impressive rookie campaign.
Notable free agent signings for the Saints so far this offseason include Travis Etienne, David Edwards, and Kaden Elliss.
