Raiders trade Tyree Wilson to Saints
The New Orleans Saints are acquiring edge rusher Tyree Wilson and a seventh-round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a fifth-round pick (150th overall), the teams announced Saturday.
Wilson was drafted seventh overall in 2023 out of Texas Tech. Although a foot injury ended his final season with the Red Raiders, he played all 17 games as a rookie and has missed only one contest in three years.
The 25-year-old recorded 35 tackles, six quarterback hits, and four sacks last season. He played just 41.2% of the defensive snaps as he fell down the Raiders' depth chart. Wilson has struggled to get after the quarterback in the NFL, recording just 12 sacks with a 9.8% pressure rate in 50 career games, according to Next Gen Stats.
Wilson joins a Saints defensive front that includes Vernon Broughton, Chase Young, Carl Granderson, and Bryan Bresee. New Orleans also drafted defensive tackle Christen Miller out of Georgia with the 42nd pick.
Wilson is owed $4.1 million in 2026, and the Saints have to decide whether to pick up his fifth-year option by May 1.
