Los Angeles Kings forward Kevin Fiala was a healthy scratch Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks after violating team protocol by missing a meeting, according to team reporter Zach Dooley.

Fiala has four goals and six points through nine games this season. The 28-year-old is tied for the team lead in penalty minutes (12) and is last on the Kings with a minus-4 rating.

Akil Thomas filled Fiala's typical spot in the lineup alongside Trevor Moore and Phillip Danault. It's Thomas' season debut.

Fiala played the full 82-game slate last season, tallying 29 goals and 73 points.
