He's fourth in the NHL in scoring and tied for eighth in goals.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said Monday that the team would take a cautious approach with Draisaitl's injury.</p><p>"We don't want to aggravate it and make it worse," he said, according to <a href="https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-status-report-news-and-notes-march-16-2026">NHL.com</a>. "Obviously, we're looking at the big picture, but the games are important. There's nothing for sure right now making the playoffs, and we need to win hockey games, but obviously if he's not healthy to play, he's not going to play."</p><p>Edmonton is 7-6-1 without Draisaitl over the last two seasons, according to <a href="https://x.com/EdmontonJack/status/2033940089924108309?s=20">Sportsnet's Jack Michaels</a>.</p><p>The Oilers are third in the Pacific Division with a 33-26-9 record and two points behind the Anaheim Ducks for first. Edmonton has 14 games left in the regular season.</p>

The department gave Gudas a phone hearing, which has a maximum suspension length of five games.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"The assumption was that there was an injury on this play," Parros explained. "Having that information and feeling that way about this, knowing that there's likely an injury, I still decided to have just a phone hearing for that. It wasn't like I decided to have a phone hearing, found out there was an injury, and then wished I had an in-person instead, if that's what you're asking."</p><p>Matthews' agent, Judd Moldaver, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3448878" href="https://thescore.com/news/3448878">called</a> the suspension "laughable and preposterous." He also said, "The player safety department should be suspended."</p><p>"Is anybody surprised that an agent is gonna stand up for his player? I'm not," Parros said. "There's nasty stuff that gets said out there in the social media world, but that's not my concern."</p><p>Edmonton Oilers star <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/4560" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/4560">Connor McDavid</a> said Monday that "there is reason to take a look at how the whole process works," according to <a href="https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/connor-mcdavid-believes-nhl-should-do-review-of-player-safety/">Sportsnet</a>.</p><p>"We have a process in place that we feel confident in," Parros responded when asked about McDavid's comments. "We've been doing it for a long time. We sweat over these decisions and pore over these decisions every night, all season long. We have a process in place that's consistent, and we have a team that works for me - and together with me - that evaluates all these plays."</p><p>He added, "We've got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so."</p><p>Parros has held his role since 2017. He played 474 NHL games over nine seasons, racking up 1,092 penalty minutes.</p>

The player safety department should be suspended."</p><p>This marks Gudas' fifth suspension in his 881-game career. He tallied a career-best 35 goals last year.</p><p>The 35-year-old is signed through 2028-29 at a $7-million cap hit and has a 13-team no-trade clause.</p><p>Kadri won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022. He owns a full no-movement clause.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Myers has one goal and eight points in 57 games this season, and he's last among Canucks rearguards with a minus-25 rating. His 91 blocks are second on the team, and he's averaging 20:13.</p><p>Vancouver is at the bottom of the NHL with an 18-33-6 record. The Canucks have already traded star defenseman <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/7960" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/7960">Quinn Hughes</a> and forward <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/7628" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/7628">Kiefer Sherwood</a> this season.</p><p>Myers has played for Vancouver since 2019. The Flames haven't made the playoffs since 2022.</p><p>Kadri won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022 but hasn't made the postseason since.
