He's signed through next season at a $4.9-million cap hit, and he has a 10-team approved trade list.</p><p>The 34-year-old is the player the Flames get the most calls about, but there's no guarantee they'll trade him this season, LeBrun added.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Coleman won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021. He notched a career-high 30 goals and 54 points in 78 games two seasons ago.</p><p>The Texas native has accumulated 163 goals and 311 points in 667 career contests with the New Jersey Devils, Lightning, and Flames. Coleman has added 12 goals and 31 points in 65 playoff games over four trips to the postseason.</p><p>Montreal acquired center <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/2083" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/2083">Phillip Danault</a> from the Los Angeles Kings in December for a second-round pick.</p><p>The trade deadline is March 6.</p>

"Which is what they kinda had to get over, that hurdle."</p>

Canada will take on Finland in the bronze medal game (4:30 p.m.).</p><p>It's the third straight year Czechia has beaten Canada in the playoffs. The previous two were in the quarterfinal. The winning goals came with 40 seconds left in 2025, and 11 seconds left in 2024.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"They had an answer for everything we had," Canada's captain <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///wjhc/players/16992" href="https://thescore.com/wjhc/players/16992">Porter Martone</a> told TSN's Kenzie Lalonde postgame. "Sometimes you gotta tip your hats to their team. I'm really proud of those guys in (our locker room). We went to war tonight, and we fought to the very end. </p><p>"They have a really good hockey team over there. They won that game tonight. We fought to end, and it's a tough pill to swallow."</p><p>Czechia hasn't won gold at the world junior since 2001, and is in the final for only the second time since its last gold medal. Sweden is looking for its first title since 2012, and its third ever. The Swedes have lost four times in the gold medal game since last winning the tournament.</p><p>The gold medal game will not feature one of either the United States or Canada for the first time since 2016. </p><p>Utah Mammoth first-rounder <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///wjhc/players/16987" href="https://thescore.com/wjhc/players/16987">Tij Iginla</a> opened the scoring in the first period. Canada's advantage lasted only 1:42 before Colorado Avalanche prospect <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/15159" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/15159">Maxmilian Curran</a> evened it up for Czechia.</p><p>Philadelphia Flyers' sixth overall pick Martone tied the game with under three minutes left, only for Czechia to retake the lead for good 1:27 later.</p><p>Potential 2026 first overall pick Gavin McKenna was handed a minor penalty and a 10-minute misconduct for abuse of officials after Czechia's empty-netter. McKenna and other Canadian players were furious after <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///wjhc/players/16991" href="https://thescore.com/wjhc/players/16991">Cole Reschny</a> was assessed a goaltender interference penalty in the final minute.</p><p>Nashville Predators prospect <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///wjhc/players/16298" href="https://thescore.com/wjhc/players/16298">Brady Martin</a> was injured in the first period and didn't return to the game.</p>

"It doesn't taste good, but you move on."</p><p>Jarvis added: "Obviously, it's something I really worked for and wanted to achieve, but there's nothing you can do about it now. It beat Denmark 13-2 in pre-tournament competition.</p><p>Denmark's lone goal came 28 seconds into the second period by Florida Panthers prospect <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/16258" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/16258">Mads Klyvo</a>.</p><p>Canada faces Finland in its final game of the round robin on New Year's Eve, which will decide the top seed in Group B.</p><p>Canada can finish no lower than second in the group. Finland would fall to third if Czechia beats Latvia in regulation and it loses in regulation versus Canada.</p>

<p>Carolina Hurricanes goaltender <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/12697" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/12697">Pyotr Kochetkov</a> will undergo surgery on a lower-body injury and is "probably out for the year", head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Monday, according to team reporter <a href="https://x.com/WaltRuff/status/2005758753832841471?s=20">Walt Ruff</a>.</p><p>"It's what he's been dealing with all year," Brind'Amour said, according to <a href="https://x.com/RyanHenkel_/status/2005758792248504560?s=20">The Hockey News' Ryan Henkel</a>. "He's decided to have surgery. He didn't feel right all year. Was playing through it, but he doesn't want to continue that way. So, he'll get it fixed, and we'll go from there."</p><p>Kochetkov was slated to start Monday's contest against the New York Rangers. He's posted a .899 save percentage and a 2.33 goals against average in nine games this season. In his most recent outing, Kochetkov allowed five goals on 28 shots versus the Tampa Bay Lightning on Dec. 20.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The 26-year-old played a career-high 47 contests last season, recording a 897 SV% and a 2.60 GAA. In the playoffs, Kochetkov started two of Carolina's 15 games and made four total appearances, allowing 12 goals on 83 shots for an .855 SV%.</p><p>Veteran netminder <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/2583" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/2583">Frederik Andersen</a> has struggled this season with the Hurricanes. He's 1-7-2 in his previous 10 games, with his last win coming on Nov. 6 against the Minnesota Wild. The 36-year-old owns an .869 SV% and a 3.27 GAA - both career-worst marks.</p><p><a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/12923" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/12923">Brandon Bussi</a> is enjoying a breakout season between the pipes after Carolina claimed the 27-year-old off waivers from the Florida Panthers on Oct. 5. Since then, Bussi has gone 12-1-1 with a .912 SV% and an NHL-best 2.10 GAA in 14 starts. He's the first goalie in league history to win 10 of his first 11 games.</p><p>The Hurricanes lead the Metropolitan Division by three points with a 23-11-3 record.</p>

<p>Peter DeBoer reached out to Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube to quell rumors that he may replace him, <a href="http://x.com/Sportsnet/status/2005099296736379224?s=20">Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman</a> reported on "Saturday Headlines."</p><p>DeBoer's note, which was sent through an intermediary, told Berube to ignore the noise, that DeBoer hasn't been involved with the Maple Leafs, and he isn't taking his job, according to Friedman.</p><p>Toronto's staff has been under pressure during a lackluster season that saw the Maple Leafs rank second last in the Eastern Conference at the holiday break. Assistant coach Marc Savard was fired Dec. 22, with Toronto's power play ranking last in the NHL.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>DeBoer is the highest-profile coach without a team. The ex-Dallas Stars bench boss has reached the conference finals in six of the last seven years in which he's coached across stints with the Stars, Vegas Golden Knights, and San Jose Sharks. He was fired in June when Dallas lost to the Edmonton Oilers in five games, after which he controversially singled out goaltender <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/8282" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/8282">Jake Oettinger</a>.</p><p>The 57-year-old will be an assistant coach for Canada's men's Olympic hockey team in February.</p><p>Last year, Berube guided the Maple Leafs to an Atlantic Division title and the second round of the playoffs in his first season with the team. He won the Stanley Cup as head coach of the St. Louis Blues in 2019. Berube's Blues beat DeBoer's Sharks in the Western Conference Final en route to winning the Cup.</p><p>DeBoer has reached the Stanley Cup Final twice and the conference finals eight times in his head coaching career. He's yet to win the Stanley Cup.</p>
