Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman is appealing his 10-game suspension, the NHLPA announced Wednesday.

Hartman was suspended Monday for roughing Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle. The appeal goes to commissioner Gary Bettman. A second appeal would go to an independent arbitrator.

Hartman has been suspended five times in his 628-game NHL career. This is his fourth since April 2023. He's been considered a repeat offender for three consecutive suspensions.

Wild general manager Bill Guerin called on Hartman to clean up his act Wednesday, saying the forward has "no more wiggle room."

Hartman has seven goals, 17 points, and 60 penalty minutes in 48 games this season.

Bettman last reduced a suspension after an appeal in 2021, when he knocked Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jason Spezza's six-game ban for kneeing down to four contests.
