Blackhawks sign Greene to 3-year ELC starting this season
The Chicago Blackhawks signed forward Ryan Greene to a three-year, entry-level contract beginning this season, the team announced Sunday.
Greene tallied 13 goals and 38 points in 40 games in his junior year at Boston University this campaign. He captained the Terriers to the Frozen Four championship game, where they lost 6-2 Saturday against Western Michigan.
The Newfoundland native accumulated 34 goals and 104 points in his 118-game NCAA career. He earned Hockey East Third-Team All-Star honors this season.
Greene could make his NHL debut Monday night against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Blackhawks drafted the 6-foot-2 center 57th overall in 2022 out of the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers.
Earlier in April, Chicago signed prospects Oliver Moore and Sam Rinzel to entry-level contracts that start this season.
