Scheifele unavailable for Game 7
Winnipeg Jets star Mark Scheifele didn't participate in Sunday's Game 7 against the St. Louis Blues due to an undisclosed injury.
Scheifele was originally labeled a game-time decision. He was injured in Game 5 after taking a pair of heavy hits from Brayden Schenn and Radek Faksa and was forced to sit out Game 6.
The Blues won Game 6 convincingly with Scheifele unavailable.
Scheifele's injury became a point a contention before St. Louis tied the series. Blues head coach Jim Montgomery claimed the Jets pivot was hurt specifically on the hit from Faksa rather than the more controversial collision with Schenn. Jets bench boss Scott Arniel responded by saying Montgomery was "way off base" commenting on one of his player's injuries.
Vladislav Namestnikov centered the top line at practice Sunday between Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi.
Scheifele has six points in the series and registered a career-high 87 points in the regular season.
