Ovechkin passes Sakic for 10th on all-time points list

Alex Ovechkin surpassed the legendary Joe Sakic for sole possession of 10th place on the NHL's all-time points list Thursday.
The Washington Capitals captain achieved the accomplishment with his second goal and third point during an 8-4 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Ovechkin went on to complete the hat trick with an empty-netter for a four-point night. He's now up to 907 goals and 1,643 points in his storied career.
