Avalanche sit atop Stanley Cup, playoff oddsboards after NHL trade deadline
The NHL trade deadline has come and gone, and a handful of teams made deals to bolster their rosters ahead of the playoffs.
The Avalanche, who acquired Nazem Kadri and Nicolas Roy ahead of the March 6 cutoff, remain the favorites to win the Stanley Cup at +240 on theScore Bet. Meanwhile, the Lightning added Corey Perry, a Stanley Cup Final regular who's appeared in five of the past six series. They sit second on the oddsboard at +400.

The Hurricanes had a quiet deadline and were among the "losers" in our post-deadline analysis. They're -3000 to win the Metropolitan Division but have failed to get over the hump in recent postseasons; Carolina has reached the Eastern Conference Final in two of the past three seasons, yet it won just a single game across both series. The team could've made a bigger splash, given its perceived ceiling with the current roster.
The Oilers didn't address their goaltending concerns, so they'll attempt to make their third straight Cup Final with the duo of Tristan Jarry and Connor Ingram. Edmonton holds the third-shortest odds to win the Western Conference despite sitting seventh in the standings.
The Wild's most significant acquisition of the season - Quinn Hughes - happened in December. Minnesota, which has the fourth-best record in the league, is a legitimate threat to Colorado in the West.

Plenty of teams are still battling for a playoff spot as roughly 20 games remain on the schedule.
For teams such as the Ducks, Mammoth, and Golden Knights, it would take a colossal downturn to fall short of the postseason, while others - the Blue Jackets, Bruins, Senators, Sharks, and Kings - are closer to a coin flip.
The two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers are +1000 to make the playoffs in a forgettable year riddled with injuries. They have the third-worst record in the East and as many points as the Maple Leafs, who aren't even listed on the oddsboard.
