Henley takes 3-shot lead, Schauffele slips in 3rd round of CJ Cup
Russell Henley sits atop the leaderboard at the CJ Cup through three rounds of play.
The leader shot a 5-under 67 on Saturday, improving to 15-under for the tournament and taking a three-shot lead into Sunday.
Despite Henley's solid play, he knows it won't be easy to capture his fourth career PGA Tour victory.
"Anybody can come at me," he told The Associated Press' Doug Ferguson. "You can go low out here. The greens are great and it's gettable, but you've got to play well to do that. You've got to do everything well. I've got to just keep my head down and play a good round for me."
Xander Schauffele, who led the event after Round 2, fired a 2-over 74 in the third round and slid to 12-under overall. As a result, he fell into a four-way tie for second place with Lanto Griffin, Talor Gooch, and Jason Kokrak.
Jason Day moved to 10-under for the tournament and matched Griffin's 6-under Saturday. Day tied Griffin for the second-best score of the round along with Rory McIlroy and Ryan Palmer, while Bubba Watson's 7-under par was Saturday's best mark.
McIroy sits at 8-under overall, as does Watson. Palmer is at 6-under through three rounds.
