The Phoenix Mercury re-signed nine-time All-Star Brittney Griner, the WNBA announced Friday.

Griner has spent her entire 10-year career with the Mercury. She's averaging 17.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks over her career.

The 33-year-old has won two Defensive Player of the Year awards, led the league in blocks eight times, been nominated to three All-WNBA first teams, and won the championship in 2014. She's also a two-time Olympic gold medalist.

In 2012, Griner was named AP Player of the Year and led Baylor to its second national title. She earned the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player for her performance in the title game.

The Mercury struggled in 2023, finishing last in the league with a 9-31 record.
