Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya condemned Ryan Garcia's use of racial slurs against Black people and disparaging comments about Muslims.

"There is no room for hate or intolerance at my company. Period," De La Hoya wrote Friday in a statement on Instagram. "I condemn Ryan's words in the strongest terms possible."

The World Boxing Council (WBC) expelled Garcia from any activity with the organization Thursday after the boxing star repeatedly made racist comments during an expletive-filled social media livestream.

Garcia said Friday in an Instagram post that he was sorry if he "hurt and offended anyone." The 25-year-old added he believes his words were taken "out of context."

"I see that he has apologized, and that is a start - but it is only a start to earn back the trust and respect of those of us who have and continue to support him," De La Hoya wrote. "We hope Ryan will use the time he has away from the sport to work through the issues he has publicly discussed. We stand ready to help in whatever we can."

The last several months have been tumultuous for Garcia. He's serving a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission after failing multiple drug tests in relation to his April 20 fight against WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney. Garcia initially won by majority decision, but the bout was later overturned to a no-contest.

In June, Garcia was arrested for felony vandalism at a Beverly Hills hotel.

Garcia wrote Friday he was "headed to rehab," though he didn't specify the reason.
