As a result of being ranked, Paul is now eligible for a world title shot against WBA and WBO cruiserweight champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez.
"I want to be world champion. ... I want (to fight) everybody," Paul said Saturday.
Paul made his professional boxing debut in 2020 and holds a 12-1 record. The win over Chavez was his sixth in a row.
Paul, 28, went 3-0 last year, defeating 59-year-old former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, ex-UFC fighter Mike Perry, and journeyman Ryan Bourland. His lone career loss came against Tommy Fury in February 2023.
Ramirez co-headlined the Paul-Chavez card, earning a unanimous decision win over Yuniel Dorticos to retain his titles. Paul and Ramirez engaged in a faceoff at the postfight press conference.
