Dodgers' Hernández joins HR Derby to complete field
The field for the 2024 T-Mobile Home Run Derby at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, is set.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández announced Wednesday that he'll take part in next Monday's event along with Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis García, New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson, Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm, Atlanta Braves designated hitter Marcell Ozuna, and Cleveland Guardians third baseman José Ramírez.
The Home Run Derby will have a new champion this year as Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won't be back to defend his crown.
The event will also have a new format. All eight participants will compete against each other in the first round, with the top four hitters advancing to a one-on-one knockout competition in the semifinals and final.
