Nationals non-tender Finnegan after 38-save campaign

The Washington Nationals non-tendered right-handed closer Kyle Finnegan on Friday, the team announced.

Finnegan made his first All-Star team last season, posting a 3.68 ERA and a career-high 38 saves in 65 appearances.

The 33-year-old has pitched well for the Nationals since his 2020 debut. He's authored a 3.56 ERA, 4.24 FIP, and 8.9 K/9 in 291 career outings.

Finnegan was projected to earn $8.6 million through arbitration.

Washington also non-tendered right-hander Tanner Rainey, who posted a 4.76 ERA in 50 outings last season.
