Report: Rockies, Farmer agree to 1-year deal

The Colorado Rockies agreed to a one-year deal with infielder Kyle Farmer, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

Farmer's reported pact includes an option year. The contract's financials aren't known.

The 34-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Minnesota Twins, slashing .240/.308/.387 with 16 home runs, 27 doubles, and 71 RBIs in 227 games.

Farmer has played seven different positions throughout his career, including pitcher and catcher, with most of his reps coming at shortstop and second base. He could form a double-play combination in Colorado's infield with Ezequiel Tovar after the Rockies non-tendered Brendan Rodgers on Friday.

The eight-year veteran began his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers before stints with the Cincinnati Reds and Twins.
