Cyborg enjoys triumphant return, beats Pacheco by decision
Cris Cyborg defeated Larissa Pacheco via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) in the co-main event of PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Cyborg captured the PFL women's featherweight super fights championship with the victory.
This was Cyborg's first MMA bout since the PFL acquired her former promotion, Bellator, in November 2023. Cyborg is still technically the Bellator women's featherweight champion, though it's unclear whether she'll defend that title again.
The Brazilian legend boxed twice earlier this year - and won both fights - before agreeing to face Pacheco in the PFL.
Cyborg stayed busier than Pacheco throughout the fight, outlanding her opponent on the feet and scoring a handful of takedowns. Cyborg's biggest moment came in the first round when she tagged Pacheco with a head kick and a massive left hand, but Pacheco survived.
Cyborg also overcame a deep cut above her eye to extend her MMA winning streak to eight. Cyborg, 39, a former UFC, Strikeforce, and Invicta FC champion, hasn't lost since facing Amanda Nunes in 2018.
Pacheco, the former two-time PFL champion, suffered her first loss since 2019 and had her 10-fight winning streak snapped.
