Steph jokes Warriors should stay in hotels at home due to road success

The Golden State Warriors have been more successful on the road than at home this season, which has Stephen Curry wondering if they should make some changes to their routine.

In an interview with The Athletic's David Aldridge, Curry jokingly suggested that the Warriors start staying in hotels before their home games to simulate a road environment.

"Being comfortable in hostile environments, being comfortable in allowing your defense to travel, and being able to rely on that, whatever the case is, it's the polar opposite of last year," the Warriors star said. "I was joking that we might need to stay in hotels in San Francisco the night before home games and act like it's a road game, take the bus in."

Golden State is 18-19 at Chase Center this season and 22-15 on the road, with its latest win coming Sunday night against the Spurs in San Antonio. It's a stark contrast from last season when the team finished 33-8 at home and 11-30 on the road.

"It's bizarre," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Friday. "A year ago, it was the complete opposite. We were 33-8 at home and 0-41 on the road or so. So, who knows? It's hard to explain these things. The main thing is we're playing well right now. We're in a pretty good groove."

The Warriors currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference and have eight games remaining on the season, which are split evenly at home and on the road.
