Zion out indefinitely due to hamstring strain

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is out indefinitely with a left hamstring strain, the team announced Saturday.

Williamson will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Williamson did not play in Friday's 115-88 loss to the Orlando Magic. The 24-year-old has missed four of the first 10 games of the season.

He's averaged 22.7 points, eight rebounds, and 5.3 assists when he has played.

The Pelicans have caught the injury bug early this campaign. New Orleans has been without Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy III, Herb Jones, and Jordan Hawkins at various points of the season. Murphy will reportedly make his debut Monday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Williamson played a career-high 70 games last season. Over his first four campaigns, he's played 114 games. He missed the entirety of the 2021-22 season due to a foot injury.

The Pelicans have lost four straight games, dropping them to a 3-7 record - good for 14th in the Western Conference.
