The final 22 games of the season are as important as ever for the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns could make significant roster changes in the offseason and move star forward Kevin Durant if they don't make a serious run in the regular season's final stretch, league sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Durant was reportedly blindsided by his involvement in trade rumors at the deadline in February but would work with Phoenix in the summer to find a potential trade with a contender.

Four to six contending teams are expected to be interested in Durant, Charania adds.

The Suns sit 11th in the Western Conference, 3.5 games out of the final play-in spot. They hit a rough patch in February, going 3-10 through the month.

Durant is still performing at a high level, with the 36-year-old averaging 26.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists on 53.1% shooting in 2024-25.

The 15-time All-Star is signed in Phoenix through the 2025-26 season. However, he's eligible for a two-year, $120-million maximum extension this offseason that would keep him under contract through 2027-28.

Phoenix held onto Durant at the deadline despite him generating a lot of interest. The Golden State Warriors, one of Durant's former squads, were reportedly among the teams that strongly pursued him.
