Kings' Sabonis to miss at least 1 week with hamstring strain
Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis will be out at least one week with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, the team announced.
Sabonis suffered the injury in the first quarter of Saturday's win over the Houston Rockets.
The 28-year-old is leading the NBA in rebounds for the third consecutive season with 14.1 per game and averaging 19.5 points and 6.2 assists while shooting 43.2% from three.
Sabonis has also secured a league-best 50 double-doubles this campaign.
Veteran big man Jonas Valanciunas is expected to see an uptick in minutes with Sabonis sidelined.
Sacramento is also signing center Skal Labissiere to a 10-day contract out of the G League, his agent told ESPN's Shams Charania. Labissiere was drafted 28th overall by the Kings in 2016. He's averaged 15.8 points and 7.5 rebounds in the G League this season. This will be his third stint in Sacramento.
The Kings sit ninth in the Western Conference at 31-28.
