San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is likely to return from a 12-game absence for Saturday's NBA Cup semifinal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Sidelined since Nov. 14 due to a calf strain, Wembanyama returned to practice this week and has taken part in multiple five-on-five sessions.
The Spurs have posted a 9-3 record in the star's absence, including winning two NBA Cup group games and the team's quarterfinal matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
Wembanyama is averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, four assists, and a league-leading 3.6 blocks in 12 games this season.
