The Boston Celtics acquired Nikola Vucevic and a second-round pick from the Chicago Bulls for Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Boston is receiving a 2027 second-rounder that originally belonged to the Denver Nuggets, a source told Spotrac's Keith Smith.

Meanwhile, Chicago gets a second-round pick from this year's draft that's the most favorable selection between the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, and Portland Trail Blazers, Smith reports.

Vucevic gives the Celtics an experienced option at the five following the offseason departures of Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet.

Neemias Queta has served as Boston's primary starting center with Luka Garza backing him up.

Vucevic spent parts of the last six seasons with the Bulls. The 35-year-old is averaging 16.9 points, nine boards, and 3.8 assists across 48 appearances this season.

The Celtics acquired Simons over the summer as part of the Jrue Holiday trade.

Simons had a lead role on Boston's second unit, averaging 14.2 points and shooting 39.5% from deep over 49 appearances this season.

Both Vucevic and Simons are on expiring contracts.

The Celtics also get out of the first apron and drop their luxury-tax bill from $39.5 million to $17 million following the trade, per ESPN's Bobby Marks.
