Boston Celtics center Nikola Vucevic is expected to miss at least three-to-four weeks after undergoing surgery Saturday to stabilize a fracture in his right ring finger, the team announced.
Vucevic sustained the injury in the first quarter of Friday's contest against the Dallas Mavericks and was promptly ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Boston acquired Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls at the trade deadline to add more frontcourt depth behind Neemias Queta.
The veteran has averaged 11.4 points, 7.8 boards, and two assists across 11 appearances for the Celtics. He's also shooting 35.1% from deep.
Luka Garza is poised to step into Vucevic's role as the primary backup center.
