Head coach Kenny Dillingham confirmed that Sam Leavitt will start at quarterback for Arizona State on Saturday against Oklahoma State, according to SunDevilSource.com's Chris Karpman.

"He's going to be the guy. He looked really good today," Dillingham said after Wednesday's practice.

Leavitt sustained a cracked rib after taking a hit in the second quarter of the Sun Devils' win against Utah. He went to the locker room and returned before halftime, though he looked very different in the second half, uncharacteristically not attempting a rushing play. Jeff Sims started in Arizona State's next contest, a loss against Cincinnati, before the team's bye last week.

Dillingham revealed on Monday that Leavitt had been cleared for weeks and that the team was trying to protect him from another injury, according to Arizona Sports' Damon Allred.

Leavitt, a Michigan State transfer, helped Arizona State to a 5-1 start to begin the season before getting hurt. He's thrown for 1,166 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions with a 59.2% completion rate. He's also added 279 rushing yards for another four scores.
