Buss: Lakers' global reach 'is gonna get even bigger' with Doncic
Los Angeles Lakers controlling owner and president Jeanie Buss believes the addition of Luka Doncic will provide a boost to the team's global popularity.
Buss shared her thoughts on the Lakers' blockbuster trade for Doncic in an interview with Nathan Vinson of People, describing it as a "great marriage, a great match."
"I really was surprised by all the coverage, but it just shows the love of the Lakers team and I imagine that our global reach is gonna get even bigger," Buss said. "The Lakers are popular all over the world. And certainly (Luka) is a global superstar. He's got a long future. He's only 25 years old. So, I think we have a lot to look forward to."
Doncic was dealt to the Lakers earlier this month after spending seven years in Dallas, where he helped lead the Mavericks to an NBA Finals appearance last season.
The Slovenian star is averaging 26.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game on the campaign.
