New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson knows he has the opportunity to earn a massive payday with an elite 2024 season.

"I see all of (the big receiver contracts)," Wilson said when the Jets reported for training camp, according to the New York Post's Brain Costello. "I don't look at it as far as that can be coming for me. I look at it as I've got to go make that happen."

There are 21 wide receivers on contracts that average $20 million or more per year, according to Over The Cap. Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson, Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown, Detroit Lions All-Pro Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Miami Dolphins speedster Tyreek Hill are on deals that average over $30 million per season.

"I've got the opportunity to join an elite group of guys," Wilson said. "That's who gets that type of money is an elite group of guys, guys that are part of teams that win games because of them and are difference-makers every single time they are on the field."

Wilson has been productive through his first two NFL seasons despite the Jets' consecutive 7-10 campaigns, posting over 1,000 yards both years. The 24-year-old won Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022 with 1,103 yards and four touchdowns on 83 receptions.

The Ohio State product has looked to develop both his mind and body as he gets ready for his third season, stating, "once you understand, you play at a different speed and stop thinking so much and just play."

He added: "When I first got here, I wasn't strong enough. I could skate on some things because of what I do offer, but that year took a toll on me physically. I had to find a way to get bigger, get stronger."

Wilson will look to leverage his offseason gains when the Jets open their season Sept. 9 against the San Francisco 49ers.

The 6-foot, 192-pound wide receiver has totaled 178 receptions, 2,145 yards, and seven touchdowns since being selected 10th overall in 2022.
