Watch: Jets' Corley loses TD after dropping ball before goal line
A silly mistake haunted the New York Jets on Halloween at MetLife Stadium on Thursday.
Rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley went untouched on an 18-yard run in the second quarter but dropped the ball before crossing the goal line, costing the Jets a touchdown on the play and giving the ball back to the Houston Texans as a result of a touchback.
Corley entered Thursday's matchup with just one touch in the NFL. New York drafted him in the third round in April.
The Jets' offense had another slow start against the Texans, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers starting the game 0-for-5. New York had seemingly figured things out and marched 68 yards down the field on six plays as part of a promising drive before Corley's fumble.
It's the latest gaffe in what's been a disappointing season for the Jets, who entered Week 9 with a 2-6 record and the NFL's 25th-ranked offense.
