Lamar sets QB rushing record as Ravens steamroll Texans

Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Lamar Jackson became the all-time leading rusher for a quarterback Wednesday in a 31-2 victory over the Houston Texans, surpassing Michael Vick's mark of 6,109 yards.

The record was broken on a 6-yard rush in the third quarter. Jackson also notched a 48-yard touchdown run earlier in the contest.

"I'm grateful, man," Jackson said postgame, according to Bobby Kownack of NFL.com. "That's a record that's been there forever, for a long time. Michael Vick, one of my favorite players, it's just dope."

Jackson also got it done with his arm versus Houston, completing 10 of 15 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns with a 143.9 passer rating.

The star quarterback entered the game with 6,023 yards, 87 short of breaking Vick's achievement. Vick accomplished the feat in 143 career games, while Jackson broke the record in his 102nd career contest. The two-time MVP has run for 1,000-plus yards in a season twice since entering the NFL as a first-round pick in 2018.

The Ravens moved to 11-5 with the victory, one game up on the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North.
