Eagles acquire Bigsby from Jaguars
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired running back Tank Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars, the teams announced Tuesday.
Philly sent 2026 fifth- and sixth-round draft picks to the Jaguars in exchange for the 24-year-old.
Bigsby was drafted in the third round in 2023 by Jacksonville. After a quiet rookie campaign, he led the Jaguars in attempts (168), rushing yards (766), and rushing touchdowns (seven) in 2024.
However, Bigsby didn't see a ton of work in Jacksonville's Week 1 victory over the Carolina Panthers, recording five touches for 12 yards while playing only 21% of the offensive snaps. Travis Etienne, selected in the first round of the 2021 draft, rushed for 143 yards on 16 attempts and looks to have solidified the Jaguars' No. 1 running back job.
Bigsby will be behind Saquon Barkley on the Eagles' depth chart but could immediately become Philly's backup rusher. Will Shipley left the season-opening win against the Dallas Cowboys due to a rib injury, and it's uncertain if he'll miss time. A.J. Dillon is the other running back on the Eagles' roster.
