Green Bay Packers star pass-rusher Micah Parsons will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The four-time Pro Bowler is expected to face a recovery timeline of at least nine months after an MRI on Monday confirmed the injury, Rapoport added.

Parsons went down in the third quarter while trying to rush Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. He was helped to the locker room and ruled out of the game in the fourth quarter.

"I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated," Parsons posted Monday. "This injury is my greatest test - a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony."

Parsons' debut campaign with Green Bay comes to an unceremonious end with the injury. The Packers traded two first-round picks plus defensive tackle Kenny Clark to acquire the All-Pro edge rusher from the Dallas Cowboys before the regular season.

Green Bay rewarded Parsons with a four-year, $188-million contract the same day that he joined the team.

The four-time Pro Bowler recorded 26 QB hits, 12.5 sacks, and 12 tackles for loss in 14 games for the Packers. Parsons entered Sunday with a league-leading 60 pressures, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
