The New York Giants reached an agreement to hire John Harbaugh as their head coach.

Harbaugh is set to sign a five-year contract with the Giants, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The former longtime Baltimore Ravens coach will earn about $20 million annually under the new deal, sources told The Athletic's Devon Henderson, Dan Duggan, Dianna Russini, and Ian O'Connor.

"Today is an exciting day. What a privilege it is to join the Maras and Tischs and the whole organization," Harbaugh told Fox Sports' Jay Glazer. "I am so fired up about the players on this team. Looking forward to the great things we can accomplish together."

Negotiations reportedly continued throughout the week, with the sides working on the pact's framework. The Giants finalized an initial contract offer late Friday night before sending it to Harbaugh's representatives, The Athletic adds.

The 63-year-old wanted a similar structure to what he had in Baltimore, where he reported directly to team owner Steve Bisciotti, per The Athletic.

The Giants agreed to allow Harbaugh to report directly to owner John Mara, according to Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano.

Harbaugh inherits a talented roster with a core group built on youth. The Giants boast a solid offensive trio led by quarterback Jaxson Dart, who flashed brilliance during his rookie campaign in 2025. Dart is expected to develop alongside Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo, both of whom are working their way back from season-ending injuries. On defense, Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence headline a talented unit that also saw rookie Abdul Carter rise to prominence.

Finding sustained success has been a struggle for the Giants following the departure of head coach Tom Coughlin. Harbaugh represents the franchise's fifth head coaching hire since Coughlin's exit in 2015. New York hasn't captured the NFC East since 2011, when it won Super Bowl XLVI.

With the hire, New York brings in one of the most successful coaches available in the 2026 cycle. Harbaugh was among the most sought-after candidates, reportedly drawing interest from the Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, and others. Over 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, he compiled 180 wins and a Super Bowl title.
