Mike McDaniel canceled an interview with the Buffalo Bills for their vacant head coaching job that was scheduled for Friday, a source told The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

McDaniel was set to meet with Buffalo brass in Florida, where the club also scheduled interviews with Philip Rivers, Anthony Lynn, Anthony Weaver, and Grant Udinski.

The 42-year-old McDaniel also reportedly canceled a second interview with the Cleveland Browns for their head coaching job. He has spoken with the Las Vegas Raiders about their position, as it's still one of the five vacant head coaching jobs available.

He could still meet with Buffalo, but there is currently nothing scheduled between the two sides, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

If McDaniel decides to take an offensive coordinator position instead of a head coaching job, it's expected that will be with the Los Angeles Chargers, Russini adds. He met with the Chargers on Tuesday, but a deal has yet to be finalized.

McDaniel was fired by the Miami Dolphins after a four-year run as their head coach. He went 35-33 during his tenure with two postseason appearances.

Buffalo is in the midst of a coaching search after firing Sean McDermott last week. Quarterback Josh Allen, whose only coach has been McDermott since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2018, has reportedly been sitting in on the Bills' coaching interviews.
