The Seattle Seahawks will kick off the 2026 NFL regular season Wednesday, Sept. 9, at home against an unknown opponent, the Super Bowl LX champions announced.

The league will reveal Seattle's first opponent later this spring. It'll be only the fifth NFL game played on a Wednesday since 1950.

The NFL is moving the season opener from its traditional weekday, Thursday, to accommodate the league's first-ever game in Australia.

The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will face off in Melbourne on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 8:25 p.m. ET. In Australia, the game takes place Friday, Sept. 11, at 10:35 a.m. local time.
