Tkachuk: 'No concern' about lower-body injury
United States forward Matthew Tkachuk is being evaluated for a lower-body injury sustained in Saturday's win over Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, head coach Mike Sullivan told NHL.com's Dan Rosen.
Tkachuk didn't play in the final 12 minutes of the third period and appeared to tell the coaching staff he had to sit out while on the bench. However, the winger said postgame that he isn't worried about his status moving forward.
"No, no concern at all," Tkachuk said, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
The U.S. booked a spot in the 4 Nations Face-Off title game with Saturday's win but is scheduled to play Sweden on Monday to conclude the tournament's round-robin.
Tkachuk was held pointless in 11:10 of ice time against Canada. He started the contest by fighting Brandon Hagel at the opening faceoff.
