St. Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's contest against the Buffalo Sabres, head coach Jim Montgomery confirmed to The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford.

The Blues have two wins in their past 10 games and are coming off a 6-1 shellacking at the hands of the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.

Kyrou, who's tied with Robert Thomas as St. Louis' highest-paid player at $8.125 million per season, hasn't recorded a point in four games and is a minus-8 in 14 contests this season.

The 27-year-old had an eight-game point streak before his drought. He led the Blues with 36 goals and ranked second with 70 points last season.

Kyrou was involved in trade rumors over the summer, with the Montreal Canadiens reportedly among the interested teams. However, Kyrou's no-move clause kicked in July 1 and is active through the remainder of his contract, which expires in 2030.
