Wyndham Clark carded a flawless 10-under 61 on Thursday at the Waste Management Phoenix Open to grab an early two-shot lead over Billy Horschel.

Clark made 10 birdies - five on each nine - with no bogeys during the lowest-scoring round of his professional career. The 26-year-old has never won on the PGA Tour, and his best finish was a T-5 at the 2019 3M Open in Minneapolis.

Horschel held the lead briefly before Clark's late charge. He turned in a bogey-free performance of his own to stand alone in second.

Here's the top of the leaderboard after Round 1:

Place Player To Par R1 Score
1 Wyndham Clark -10 61
2 Billy Horschel -8 63
3 J.B. Holmes -7 64
T4 Tom Hoge -6 65
T4 Harris English -6 65
T4 Byeong Hun An -6 65
T4 Bud Cauley -6 65

A number of notable players are outside of the top 10. Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, and Hideki Matsuyama are at 4-under in a tie for 13th. Justin Thomas shot 68 to sit seven shots off the lead.

Jordan Spieth and defending champion Rickie Fowler shot matching 3-over 74s.
