Varner sets PGA Tour record with 32 straight pars to start tournament

Harold Varner III started the Waste Management Phoenix Open with 32 consecutive pars, breaking a PGA Tour record in the ShotLink era that had stood for nearly 14 years.
The 29-year-old birdied the 15th hole at TPC Scottsdale on Friday to snap his ridiculous streak after breaking the previous mark set by K.J. Choi at Colonial Country Club in 2006, according to Golf Digest's Joel Beall.
Varner didn't seem too thrilled about his performance in Thursday's opening round.

Varner closed his second round with two bogeys and a birdie to finish the week at even par and miss the cut by one stroke.
