Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford was ejected in the sixth inning of his team's 9-3 loss to the Washington Nationals on Thursday following an explosive exchange with home-plate umpire Andy Fletcher.
JP Crawford, Jorge López, and Rowdy Tellez all had words for Andy Fletcher because of his strike zone in last night's game.

The broadcast picked up some VERY colorful language during JP Crawford's ejection. 😳 pic.twitter.com/qktKJHAmG5
Crawford laid into Fletcher after he struck out on a pitch from Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore. The pitch appeared to be outside and was impactful, as the Mariners, down by two runs, had runners on first and third.
The Nationals eventually got out of the inning without allowing a run.

"It's frustrating at times, and J.P. has been solid for us," Mariners manager Dan Wilson said of Crawford's ejection after the game. "It's always tough in those situations, but we were able to continue to fight, and that's what our guys do. We pick each other up and we have each other's backs, and that's what the guys did tonight for sure."
Crawford wasn't the only player in Thursday's contest who was upset with Fletcher's strike zone: Nationals right-hander Jorge López had some choice words for the umpire during a seventh-inning at-bat against Rowdy Tellez, who also said something to Fletcher.
Fletcher scored below the league average in overall accuracy and overall consistency during Thursday's game, according to Umpire Scorecards. His calls favored the Nationals by +0.04 runs.
