Porzingis returns to floor in Game 5
Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis checked in midway through the first quarter of Monday's Game 5 tilt against the Dallas Mavericks.
Porzingis was active for Boston's Game 4 defeat but didn't play after suffering a dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon in his left leg in Game 2. Head coach Joe Mazzulla said Porzingis would only play in Game 4 in "specific instances, if necessary."
The 28-year-old missed 10 playoff games due to a calf strain suffered in the first round against the Miami Heat. Porzingis has averaged 13.5 points, five rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 1.3 assists over six postseason contests.
Boston is on the verge of clinching an NBA-record 18th title, up 3-1 in the Finals. Porzingis played a reserve role in his two previous contests this series, recording 20 points off the bench in Game 1 and 12 in Game 2.
