The Atlanta Hawks will sign free-agent wing Nickeil Alexander-Walker to a four-year contract worth $62 million that includes a player option and a trade kicker, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Atlanta is sending a 2027 second-rounder via the Cleveland Cavaliers and cash to Minnesota as part of a sign-and-trade deal to acquire Alexander-Walker, adds Charania.

Alexander-Walker, 26, is coming off his sixth NBA campaign. He spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, developing into a pivotal rotation piece thanks to his defensive skill set and his ability to stretch the floor.

The Toronto native averaged 9.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists for the T-Wolves in 2024-25. Chris Finch's side posted a 6.6 net rating with Alexander-Walker on the floor last season, the team's third-best mark involving any player with at least 50 minutes.

He's also maintained a clean bill of health since joining Minnesota midway through 2022-23 in a trade from the Utah Jazz; for a second straight year, he played in all 82 regular-season games for Minnesota and has appeared in all 31 of the team's playoff contests in that span.
