Lattimore to make Commanders debut Sunday vs. Saints
Marshon Lattimore will make his Washington Commanders debut Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, the team announced Friday.
The veteran cornerback has been out with a hamstring injury since being acquired at the trade deadline from New Orleans. He's been a full participant in practice this week after coming off the bye.
"Of course, I'd be lying if I said it didn't," Lattimore said when asked if it means something to debut for the Commanders against his former team, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. "They traded me away, and I'm going back to show them why they shouldn't have."
He added: "I'm happy where I'm at, but you know how it be. Extra motivation for the game, that's all."
Lattimore will boost a Washington pass defense that ranks 22nd in EPA/dropback. Head coach Dan Quinn said Lattimore will start, and the team is "pumped" to have him on the field Sunday, according to team reporter Zach Selby.
The four-time Pro Bowler has 88 passes defended and 15 interceptions in 97 career games.
