Quarterback Aaron Rodgers will look for two things in his next team ahead of his upcoming release from the New York Jets.

"If they want you. If they've got a good team," the 41-year-old told TMZ Sports while leaving a workout in Southern California.

The Jets announced last week that they plan to release Rodgers after two seasons. The four-time MVP suffered a season-ending Achilles injury just four snaps into the 2023 season after being acquired from the Green Bay Packers that April.

Rodgers rebounded from the injury and returned to the field for the 2024 campaign. He threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a 90.5 passer rating.

New York fired head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas in the middle of a 5-11 campaign last year. The team hired Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey as its new coach and GM, respectively, this offseason.

Rodgers reportedly tried to sway the Jets to keep him for another season or two before the team announced its intention to release him.

New York will have to take on $14 million in dead money but will save $9.5 million in cap space if they designate Rodgers as a post-June 1 release, according to Over the Cap.

Along with Rodgers, Sam Darnold and Russell Wilson are also on track to become unrestricted free agents at the start of the new league year.
