Parsons new DPOY favorite, Packers odds soar after blockbuster trade
Micah Parsons is the new Defensive Player of the Year favorite after getting traded to the Packers on Thursday.
The star linebacker moved from +800 to +500 on ESPN BET and theScore Bet, vaulting fellow pass-rushers Aidan Hutchinson and Myles Garrett on the oddsboard.

Parsons has never earned the DPOY honor during his four-year career despite being widely regarded as one of the best defensive players in the league. However, he finished inside the top three in voting each of his first three seasons before playing only 13 games last year.
Since the trade, 90.34% of the handle and 62.79% of the bets placed on the DPOY market have been on Parsons.
Acquiring a difference maker on defense substantially shifted the Packers' season outlook as well. They moved from +2000 to +1400 to win the Super Bowl, placing them sixth on the oddsboard.
Green Bay is now co-favorites with the Lions to win the NFC North, moving from +260 to +185, representing a 7.3% increase in implied probability. The Packers' odds of making the playoffs also went from -125 to -185.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys' long Super Bowl odds got even longer, moving from +5000 to +6000. Their chances of making the playoffs also decreased, with their odds shifting from +200 to +280.
Outside of a quarterback switching teams, few players in the NFL would have this much impact on futures markets - a testament to what Parsons brings to the table.
