The Atlanta Falcons are hiring Tommy Rees as their new offensive coordinator, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Rees spent the 2025 season as the Browns' offensive coordinator in Kevin Stefanski's coaching staff. Stefanski began the campaign as Cleveland's offensive play-caller but handed the duties to Rees after the team's bye week in November.

The Browns, who had three different starting quarterbacks in 2025, averaged 16.4 points per game, the second-lowest mark in the NFL.

Stefanski, recently hired as Atlanta's new head coach to replace Raheem Morris, started building his new staff this week. He also hired longtime offensive line coach Bill Callahan.

Stefanski, Rees, and Co. will try to revitalize a talented but underachieving Falcons offense. Atlanta ranked 24th in points scored and 14th in total yards this past season, missing the playoffs for the eighth straight year with an 8-9 record.

The Falcons have invested heavily in their offensive unit in recent drafts, yet they haven't ranked in the top 10 in scoring since 2018, when Matt Ryan was under center. The retired quarterback became the franchise's president of football this year.

The Falcons will benefit from the return of a solid offensive line and key skill-position players like Drake London and Bijan Robinson in 2026. However, it's unclear who will play quarterback for them. Michael Penix is rehabbing a torn ACL, while Kirk Cousins' future is uncertain due to his contract situation.
