Logan Paul and mixed martial arts legend Anderson Silva are in discussions for a boxing match that would take place later this year, Paul's manager told ESPN's Mike Coppinger.

The YouTube star took on Floyd Mayweather in an eight-round exhibition boxing event in June. The Showtime pay-per-view reportedly generated more than one million buys.

Also in June, ex-UFC champion Silva upset former middleweight boxing titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his first boxing match since 2005.

Silva reigned over the UFC's middleweight division for a record 2,457 days, defending his title 10 times during a 16-fight unbeaten streak. In November 2020, the UFC released the Brazilian, who had won just once since 2012.

The 46-year-old made his pro boxing debut in 1998 and fought once more in the boxing ring in 2005 before moving to the UFC the following year.

Paul owns a 0-1 record as a pro boxer after losing his debut to fellow YouTuber KSI in November 2019.

The 26-year-old social media personality appears to be following the blueprint of his younger brother, Jake, by looking to MMA to find big-name opponents. Jake knocked out former UFC fighter Ben Askren in April to extend his professional record to 3-0. He is set to take on ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley on Aug. 29 on Showtime PPV.
