What to bet on this weekend: Everything from charity golf to Armenian soccer

We sure have come a long way from our last weekend preview.

Two months ago, we were relegated to betting basketball in Sudan, soccer in Burundi, and women's youth volleyball in Russia.

The next couple of days are going to feel like an October sports weekend in comparison, with NASCAR and golf in America, baseball in Korea, and soccer in Germany at our disposal. I'm sure I speak for most when I say things are certainly looking up.

All that being said, here's what you can bet on this weekend.

Baseball

The KBO continues in full force with five games on both Saturday and Sunday.

I'll be backing the Kiwoom Heroes (-190) and SK Wyverns (+130) on Saturday's card.

The Heroes will be looking to avenge Friday's loss to the Lotte Giants and I love their chances of doing so with Eric Jokisch on the mound. Jokish has been lights out through three starts (one run allowed in 17 innings pitched) and was excellent in five starts against the Giants last season, posting a 1.93 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Reliever Lee In-bok makes an incredibly rare start for Lotte against a Kiwoom lineup that's scored 39 runs over the last five games.

In Incheon, Kim Tae-hoon gets the start for the last-place Wyverns and he's been a rare bright spot for them this season, allowing just two runs on four hits through 13 innings (two starts) thus far. Kia counter with Aaron Brooks, who has authored a strong start to his KBO career, but was roughed up in his last outing. The Wyverns' lineup has shown signs of life over the past week and I can't pass up this value with Kim on the mound.

Golf

I'm no golf expert, so I defer to my colleague Eric Patterson to fill you in on this weekend's event:

"Tiger Woods will grace television screens for the first time since February in a charity match set to raise over $10 million for COVID-19 relief. Woods and teammate Peyton Manning are the heavy favorites over the tandem of Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. Manning is a slightly better golfer of the two quarterbacks, according to their posted handicaps.

The teams will play 18 holes of match play - the front nine will be best ball before switching to modified alternate shots on the back. Since the format will benefit the team of Woods and Manning - who are both superior to their respective counterparts - and with the event being held at Tiger's home course in Florida, the favorites are the best way to play this match, even at their -200 odds."

Soccer

Soccer across the world is slowly starting to come back. We're still in the early stages, but a number of leagues have resumed play, with many others to follow in the coming weeks.

NASCAR

The seventh race of the current NASCAR series runs on Sunday with the Coca-Cola 600 taking place at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch (+430) is favored to win the race after finishing second in Wednesday's Toyota 500. Behind him is Martin Truex Jr. (+500) and the winner of last weekend's The Real Heroes 400, Kevin Harvick (+600). Denny Hamlin (+900) has the fifth-shortest odds after winning the Toyota 500 on Wednesday.

Table tennis
