Hobbled by injuries to start the season, the Los Angeles Lakers are adjusting the fringes of their roster by waiving third-year forward Sekou Doumbouya to sign Chaundee Brown Jr. to a two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Doumbouya made two appearances this season, contributing 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals in 16 minutes of action.

However, the 20-year-old dealt with foot soreness in recent days, further hampering a Lakers unit already missing LeBron James, Trevor Ariza, Kendrick Nunn, and Austin Reaves.

Brown, a 6-foot-5 wing, played three years at Wake Forest before transferring to Michigan for 2020-21. He played for the Lakers in the preseason, putting up 7.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in just over 12 minutes per game while shooting 5-of-11 on threes.
